2015 And Good SEO Basics To Challenge Google's New Future Algorithms

By German Calvo

There are right now millions and millions of Personal Computers operating online and the numbers are growing hugely by the minute. But there are already many more mobile devices in use with Internet searching capability than there are PCs operating online. And Google knows this fact and therefore will take steps to give users a much better online searching experience.

One way the best search engine in the planet can do this is by creating icons to aid users in knowing what Google lists next to the searchers' results. This could be an unfriendly icon, for instance, when the search engines generate mobile errors for user's searches online. If they go this way, webmasters would be wise to make sure sites can be seen correctly and fast in mobiles, without any problems.

What is applicable to PCs and websites in general, can apply to mobile devices use as regards to searches online. Most of the new themes for sites out there on the web, are already mobile friendly which is what Google likes. And most probably the giant search engine, will take an aggressive stance to capture the huge number of mobile users coming online with their voice searches as well.

Google already have their Voice Search system in place which allows users to talk to their mobile phone or laptop/computer asking for a particular kind of information. This system is going to increase in the number of users that are coming online with mobile phones. The languages allowed so far are not many although it is reasonable to assume one day almost every major language will be used to voice searches online.

With this new system (well, not so new since it was introduced about 3 years ago), no doubt, will come new advances in voice recognition technology. And new advances in Google Search apps for mobile phones will be introduced as well. No doubt, speaking our queries into Google is something that will grow a lot in 2015 and the giant search engine is well prepared, already taking massive action.

Must we continue to optimize in everyday search targeting single keywords or double keyword phrases or will it be better targeting long tail keyword phrases? Where and how will the best targeted traffic be achieved for our sites? Up until now the longer tail keyword phrases were giving the most effective targeted traffic so, it looks like this will continue throughout 2015 and beyond...

Now there is the question of automation to simplify almost everything including getting social signals of approval for back links Google trust; yeah, the search engine giant is giving great importance to the social approval of signals that the major social sites register, that is why it came with their Google+ social part to join the other giants FB and Twitter. This is very important right now for Google and in will continue to be so also through 2015.

Most of what is mentioned above, really is the continuation of good SEO basics that we need to keep using. The great search engine still trusts and likes natural back links when they are relevant and diverse so users need not fear its future algorithms. Common sense, relevancy and good content plus good SEO basics will call the tune for 2015 as well.

And there is no harm in being practical, in minimizing SEO strategies and hard work, to a level that is affordable using automation even when possible.

To your success,

Link Building - Defining Importance and Evaluating Strategies for 2015

By Supriya Lala

Link building helps to relate search strings to web pages and is an effective strategy for the popularity of a website. Links provide direction to search engine to help users search the content they are looking for on web. Search engines constantly redefine the algorithms and use link data to perform site assessment with respect to a search query.

Although links form a part of the entire gamut of SEO related activity, experts attribute links as an important determinant of search engine's algorithm to relate to links. Links provide a foundation for search engines to evaluate the popularity of pages. Links provide the benchmarks for assessment of websites based on trustworthiness, spammy nature and ranking (depending on authority). As provided by Hiltop Algorithm, links act on an authority model to refer the most expert pages related to a given subject. (1)

Process Management

Link building should follow the best practices as per Google guidelines and needs to be done the correct way to harness maximum benefit for SEO. Creative strategies need to be developed in a manner that the target audience is compelled to get engaged with the website link. The process should be systematic, scientific and creative.

Link building strategy involves understanding the client website thoroughly. It involves understanding specific elements; its unique selling point, industry vertical, market presence, inherent value, area of operation, nature of target audience and various products/service segments. All of these can be treated as linkable assets.

By comparing and contrasting various elements a strategy can be devised which relates the target audience to these elements through links as a medium, assessed the effectiveness of the strategy and make modifications depending on results.(2)

Link building - Marketer's View

Link building is getting the grasp of the website and target audience from a marketing perspective. It involves understanding why the website should be valued by the target audience, why any user would want to visit it, and why it is worth linking to. An applicable marketing strategy here is compelling in nature and has a credible and influential outreach. The exercise aims to obtain the contact between the client's website and the target audience by specifying the importance and value of the client's website for them and what unique benefit might the users obtain by visiting the particular website. If implemented correctly link building can act as immensely helpful marketing strategy for creating brand awareness, brand promotion, lead generation and lead conversion.(3)

Links serve as a marketer's tool to indicate the relevancy and authority to Google and to the website's unique audience group. It aims to foster trust between linked websites and enable Google to detect tactics which provide manipulative search results and extremely poor user experience. (4)

Link Building Strategies for 2015

With increased usage of internet as a medium to look out for information, products and services, link building would continue to remain popular with marketers aiming who use it as an opportunity to create brand awareness.

Search: Online presence for business is needed to command authority, visibility and reach. Websites are the digital information brochure of the company that advertises what the business stands for. Websites can be more valuable than a brick and mortar store. Search acts as the most principal channel online for various marketing initiatives such as lead generation and conversion, image management, revenues, search visibility needs to be part of the strategy. This is validated from the fact that search accounts for major traffic source for a website. The focus in 2015 should be to enhance the search presence, improve authority and visibility of websites. This happens by acknowledging and defining link opportunity for conducting link building exercise.(5)

Relationship building with authors: Effectiveness of link building strategy depends on defining the quality criteria of websites which link back to the company's site. It is all the more important to develop relationship with websites which link back to the company site. Google not only cares about the content, but also the websites and authors which are providing the links.

The concept of 'authorship tag' aims to reflect the authority of authors and sites which are related to the content providing the links. An author rank - which marks the reputation of authors to determine content quality - is an important element of search results. Thus, 2015 will involve developing strong ties with opinion influencers and developing long term relationship with authors.(6)

Rich Content: Marketers should focus on developing high quality content having links to their website as poor content is rejected by Google. Quality is generally be defined by the unique proposition of the business and target audience. The content should have demonstrated good linkage in the area in which the website wants to rank well as it points to what has worked well. With the introduction of content based algorithm Humminbird of Google, the content should possess narrow and focused keywords related to the company's niche area.(7)

Conclusion
The established importance of link building for gaining visibility, authority, promotion and lead conversion calls for embracing best practices for link building strategy. This involves understanding the importance of search, developing relationship with influencers, developing good quality and acceptable content in a targeted niche segment for effective search marketing strategies. Creating fantastic content is of no use unless the links lead to the first page of Google in ranking.

Top 4 SEO Trends That Will Rule in 2015

By Ganesh Paul

The world of SEO is dynamic and ever-evolving. The SEO industry has revamped itself from 2011 for the better, after the rolling out of Google algorithm updates. Search Engine optimization is in no way dying out but converging with the other aspects of digital marketing like content marketing and social media marketing. Now it is mainly three players- namely a SEO analyst, a social media specialist and a content marketing expert- who are going to build the game plan for an online business to earn exposure, climb up the search engine ranking ladder.

Take a look at the top 4 trends that will dominate in 2015:

Be technically right with SEO while content marketing will take care of search rankings

In 2015, SEO will be about dealing with the technical elements involving Meta tags, keyword research and getting a clean certificate for doing away with indexing issues. Content marketing will act as the strong backbone influencing search visibility. SEO and content go hand in hand and companies who are not sketching an effective content marketing plan, they are surely going to miss out on something really big. For such agencies, it is time to rethink now and avoid failure!

Work on building relational strategies- Humanize your brand

Technical accomplishment is not everything and without adding that humanizing touch, no brand can survive in this competitive business domain. Relational strategies like getting involved in blogger outreach campaigns, participating in the social media channels, getting engaged in the true sense of the term with customers - can add that human face to a brand. Being receptive to suggestions of your target customers, paying heed to social media reviews, ratings and recommendations is something that can help a brand to grow, have higher conversions and, therefore, a better profit chart!

Mobile-optimized website is a must as Google is insisting!

How a website performs on mobile devices is going to be crucial in 2015. Google has been very strict penalizing websites that could not satisfy mobile users. Mobile is getting bigger in every sphere and a SEO friendly website ought to be mobile optimized, too! The mobile users are in need of information 'on the go' and websites failing to do that will observe their search engine ranking dropping, affecting their conversion rates, also.

More value to be placed on social signals

Gone are the days when resorting to short-cut routes for achieving short-term success worked for search engine optimization via awful strategies. Now it is only about playing the fair game for the companies offering SEO services so that the websites of their clients can find a place in the good books of Google. An era observing the end of link-farming, spamming gave way to earning credibility for a website and here social signals is going to be taken account in a bigger way in 2015. A strong online presence in the different social channels like Google+, Facebook, Twitter and the likes not only helps in improving search engine ranking, but pushing the click-through rate of content in the results page. In the ranking algorithm in 2015, social signals will definitely play a significant role.

Tips For Improving Your WordPress SEO

By David Ogram

There are two aspects to improving your WordPress SEO. The first is configuring WordPress, using inbuilt settings and WordPress SEO plugins, to gain maximum SEO benefit from the platform. The second is to ensure that your content is properly optimised so that the search engines understand that it is highly relevant to the chosen keywords, this of course is the same for any site.

Configuration
SEO of a standard WordPress installation can be improved by making a few tweaks. In most cases the easiest way to do this is by installing WordPress SEO plugins which make it easy to make changes without editing any code. However the first key changes are easy to make in WordPress itself:

Go to Settings - Permalinks and change the "Common settings" to Custom Structure = /%postname%. This will put the post/page title in the URL instead of the default numbers, so the URL will include the keyword.

Go to Settings - General and make sure the site address is set to include or exclude www as you wish (see Canonical URLs below). It is also worthwhile setting this in Google Webmaster Tools. You want to avoid using both as this can be seen as duplicate content and you could get backlinks to both thereby diluting the benefit of your link building.

Then install the "All in One SEO Pack" WordPress SEO Plugin. This is the best known WordPress SEO Plugin and for good reason. It helps your WordPress SEO in many ways by giving you amongst others:

* The ability to add a meta description and keywords for the site and each page/post - it is best to write the description manually rather than allow it to be auto generated by the plugin or indeed, by the search engines.
* Control of the format of the various titles. I prefer to just have the page title showing on the search engines. You can add keywords but it is best to leave this alone.
* Option to prevent indexing of Categories and other duplicate content. The structure of WordPress means that there is always duplicate content as each post is duplicated by category, tags, date and author.
* Control of URLs. Make sure that Canonical URLs is ticked as this avoids having duplicate URLs for the same page.

You can also add WordPress SEO plugins which for example:

* Shorten your ULRs by removing unnecessary words
* Cache the pages/posts to speed up page loading
* No-Follow external links
* Add Internal Links automatically
* Make commenting more user friendly

Content Optimisation
Whilst the above all help to maximise WordPress SEO it is important to emphasise that the most important task is to ensure that the content is properly search engine optimised by, for example:

* Using the keyword in the title, header tags, first and last sentence and at a reasonable density throughout the text.
* Ensuring each page/post includes an image and using the keyword as the ALT text.
* Having links to other pages on the site.
* Having external (no-follow) links to authority sites.

One way to check this is to use a WordPress SEO plugin that analyses your content and tells you want needs to be changed.

I use the SEOPressor [http://seo-plugin.net/wordpress-seo-what-you-need-to-do]WordPress SEO Plugin to do this and I like it particularly because of the time it saves me. You simply have to follow its recommendations. [http://seo-plugin.net/go]Click Here to learn more.

SEO Tips For Your WordPress Blog

By Bryan Joseph King

A lot of blogs are using WordPress because it is one of the most SEO-friendly Content Management System (CMS). So here i am going to list some SEO tips to improve your WordPress blog. These are important things to get your WordPress blog optimized. It will help you gain more traffic and rank better in search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.

Install WordPress Plugins

You can get a lot of free plugins online and they will help a lot in optimizing your blog.

Optimize permalinks

The default permalink is not SEO-friendly and should be changed right away. For me, the most SEO-friendly would be to use /%postname%/ which will make something like this yoursitename/yourpostname . You can change your permalink by going to Settings >> Permalinks and choose custom structure and input /%postname%/ .

Optimize page titles

Page titles are the most important in your single page and should be placed between h1 tags. Titles should be short but keyword-rich.

Remove hyperlink of the Title of your single posts

I saw a lot of blogs that hyperlinks the title of their single posts and this is no longer needed since it will still link on the same page. You can easily edit it at Presentation and edit the single.php file.

Validate your code

There are a lot of tools online that you can use to validate your code. By validating your code, it will help search engines to crawl your site easier. This requires knowledge in web design to fix these codes so if you can't do it, you can hire a web developer to do it for you.

Add Meta Keywords and Description

Always add meta keywords and description to your blogs because it will help the search engines to identify what kind of blog you have. Choose your keywords wisely (means that you choose keywords that are not so competitive but has a good search volume).

Deep-Linking your posts

Deep-linking is where a post of yours links to another related post of yours. Choose the keywords to hyperlink wisely, choose the one that fits most to the post that you'll be linking.

I am Bryan Joseph King and I'm a programmer and at the same time doing SEO and I'm here to share tips on how to optimize your site or blog. Hope these tips of mine will be a help to you and bring more traffic to your blog/site.

Get More Traffic To Your WordPress Blog With These 5 SEO Tips

By Roger Weavers

SEO is pretty much the same for most websites. Whether you have a static site or a blog you still need to focus on the same elements and ranking factors. There are many plug-ins available for WordPress to help you with SEO but you still need to understand the basics to use these plug-ins correctly. Here are my 5 top tips to improve the rankings of your WordPress blog.

1: Use a SEO Plug-in and change your permalinks

There are many on page factors that the search engines use to decide how well your website will rank. The plug-in I recommend for this is WordPress SEO by Yoast. There are other similar SEO plug-ins but I think that Yoast is the most powerful.

Yoast checks 13 different elements of your posts and pages including making sure your keyword appear in the correct places on the page and it also checks the quality of your content. Google assigns a quality score you your content, a high score will help improve your rankings. The higher your quality score the less backlinks you will need to achieve top rankings.

One thing that is very important is to use keywords in your page URLs. By default WordPress will assign numbers to each page, to get your URLs created with your keyword simply go to "settings" > "Permalinks" and select "postname"

2: How to avoid duplicate content.

Some of the inbuilt functions of WordPress can actually cause SEO problems for you. If you use "Tags" and "Categories" this can create duplicate content and affect your rankings. There are many mis-conceptions about duplicate content but my understanding is that when Google detects duplicate content, whether on the same website or different websites it will choose a copy of the content to be the master copy and this will rank in Google's primary index. All other copies will be relegated to the secondary index.

By using many Tags and Categories you may create duplicate content, a tag page with one post on it will be virtually identical to the actual post page and if Google determines that the tag page is the master it may not rank as well as the actual post page. The same thing can happen with category pages. I recommend you do not use tags and if you use category pages make sure that you have at least 2 or 3 posts in each category and provide a detailed description at the top of each category page.

3: Build Trust using Internal Linking.

It is useful to have a good internal linking structure on your blog. Creating "in text links" to other related pages will help search engine index your site and improve you rankings by linking relevant pages together. There is a plug-in that creates these "in text links" but from what I have seen it does not work very well and can cause problems. Therefore I recommend you create "in text" links manually. There is a plug-in that I do use which lists a number of related posts at the end of each post. This seems to work better.

Another type of link you can use in your posts is outbound links to authority websites. Don't do this too often but a few links out to authority sites will give your blog more trust.

4: Gain Backlinks Using "Trackbacks and Pingbacks"

With any website, when optimising for competitive keywords you will need to get some backlinks to improve your rankings. There are many ways to do this and there are some methods built-in to WordPress and other plug-ins available to help you.

WordPress has two built in functions called "Trackbacks and Pingbacks". This enables you to get links from other blogs that have these functions enabled. When you add a link to another blog in your post the other blog owner will receive a trackback, if they approve the trackback a link will appear in the comments section of their post you linked to with a link back to your blog.

5: Gain More Backlinks Using Comments

A useful plug-in to gain more backlinks is CommentLuv. This allows people that also use CommentLuv to leave a comment on your blog with a link back to their latest blog post. To get backlinks to your site you must visit other blogs using CommentLuv and leave a comment. You should also leave comments on blogs that are not using CommentLuv, you won't get a link with keyword rich anchor text but you will still get a link. Make sure you leave a useful comment and you will get readers clicking through to your blog.

There are many more ways to improve the rankings of your blog, some you will find on my blog so click on the link in the bio to visit and find out more.

WordPress SEO For Achieving Top Google Rankings

By Roger Neves

If you have hung around the internet and gotten a little whiff of the SEO updates, you would have already gathered that if you have your website optimized, you stand the chance of getting better hits and more profits and ranking on the search engines. However, it might seem like something unattainable since you might not have any idea of how you can get the necessary optimization for your blog.

At first, most bloggers are often undecided on the kind of software that would be ideal for their blogging enterprise, but with time, they come to settle on the WordPress option.

However, I am always amazed when I discover that many people who make use of WordPress do not actually know anything about WordPress SEO. They have basically no knowledge of the workings of the SEO tips and training that is imperative for their online success. I do not advise you to ignore that WordPress SEO training as you would be doing yourself more harm than good. Once you make a wonderful combination of SEO and WordPress, you would be amazed yourself at the possibilities that could result from such a combination. Trying to effectively tap into the wonders of SEO without using WordPress is essentially like trying to fill up a Jacuzzi with a basket.

Basically, I can tell you of two WordPress programs that would achieve the desired effect for you. I know that there are many people out there who would smile at the prospect of making money, but are decidedly hesitant about spending some investment along the way. For these people the WordPress SEO training would be quite good, since this affords them the opportunity to make money without spending any of theirs.

I am sure you are not disputing if I tell you this: WordPress is the best blogging platform. It has its reasons too; it is easy to install, free of charge and a very good friend of google. Here are some ways you can use in optimizing your blog for better visibility on the search engines.

Step 1: Keyword research. You see, the keywords are the main things that would determine how far you would go in the SEO soup. It is therefore important for you to have a well composed list of your keywords. However here is a little tip for you; the best free tool you can use for your keyword research is the Google keyword research tool.

Step 2: customize your WordPress blog for Google SEO. First of all, of course, you should log on to your dashboard, go to settings and permalinks. Once there, alter the default structure of your blog. Click on the radio button with the "custom" header and insert /%postname%/ in the box.

Step 3: Write content.  Also, do not forget to write regularly. Don't be irregular in your writing, and make sure your articles are quality, since there is nothing a search engine loves more. WordPress SEO Tips - 5 Ways to Optimize Your WordPress Blog

By Jim Woolley

WordPress is an excellent platform to use if you want to run your own blog because it's structure and design enables it to get very good results in the search engines. However it can still be improved further, so here's 5 simple WordPress SEO tips:

1. Create keyword rich post titles.

It's important to note that you don't just want to write posts for your regular readers because you want to attract many new readers as well. So to do this you want to write post titles that contain the keywords relating to the content that you have just written.

2. Create a strong permalink structure.

It's open to debate which permalink structure is the best for SEO purposes, but whichever one you choose you must use one which includes the title of the post within the URL. It's no good creating keyword rich titles if they don't actually show up in the URL for that particular post, so this is an absolute must.

3. Install the All-In-One SEO plugin.

There are a few SEO plugins that all do pretty much the same thing but this is the one I personally use. It basically enables you to create fully optimized blog posts. You can list keywords and tags for each post and you can also arrange the title and meta descriptions for every one of your posts. Plus you can also 'nofollow' certain pages on your blog so overall it's a very useful plugin.

4. Install the Google Sitemaps plugin.

This is another plugin that I recommend using for all your WordPress blogs. It basically allows you to automatically submit your pages to Google whenever you create new posts on your blog. So you therefore know that Google will always be indexing your site.

5. Build lots of backlinks.

Finally you should of course create lots of backlinks to your site. This is arguably the most important point because you need lots of backlinks to compete for the more popular keywords. If you can combine both onpage and offpage SEO techniques then you should have a very popular blog on your hands.

The Three Essential WordPress SEO Tips You Need to Know

By Chad Mulhern

If you want to know about WordPress SEO, then this is the article for you.

The internet today is incredibly accessible. Facebook, MySpace, and eye-friendly/user-friendly layouts of nearly every website makes the internet browsing experience an overall enjoyable experience. However, the internet wasn't always like this.

With today's internet, anyone can create a blog. Decide on a topic, do a little writing, make a few clicks with your mouse, and BAM. You've got a blog.

However, the internet wasn't always like this. Back in the day, creating a blog or a website was a serious endeavor. Every aspect of your blog had to be painstakingly designed one character at a time. No Visual Fox pro or Dreamweaver back then!

Because creating a blog or a website is now so simple, people can create a website without understanding the intricacies and vital elements required.

One of these intricacies is SEO. Specifically, WordPress SEO.

Thought you might not think it at first, WordPress SEO is incredibly important if you want to get large amounts of traffic to your website. Why? Because you will have a rough time getting your website to the top of Google without proper on-page SEO.

Before you do ANYTHING, you're going to want to do proper keyword research. Chances are, you already know which keywords you want to optimize for in your WordPress SEO endeavors, but double and triple check your competition to ensure that you can take that number one spot in Google.

After you pinpoint your main keyword phrase, target a few secondary keyword phrases. These keyword phrases should be related to your primary keyword phrase, but shouldn't not have too much competition.

After you've decided on the primary and secondary keyword phrases that you'd like to take over, you'll want to make sure that your basic WordPress SEO setting are correct.

Go through your blog and make sure that your headings, subheadings and titles relate to your primary and secondary keyword phrases.

Now that you've taken care of your primary and secondary keyword phrases, it's time to take the next WordPress SEO step. Content.

This is going to be an ongoing effort. Throughout your blogs posts, try to sprinkle your primary keyword and secondary keyword phrases throughout your blog posts.

WordPress SEO isn't something you want to ignore. It seems like a small thing on paper, but it's these small things that are going to put you ahead of your competition.

Top 5 Killer Seo Tips For Beginners

By Daisy Graham Jones

SEO is a very difficult to learn and never ending topic for blogger, the more you learn the better you get. In my past 6 months of blogging career believe me every day I learn new SEO tips from one or another blog sites. But what if you have just started, you cannot be very technical in the early stages. So you need to first begin with the ABC of it. And here I am going to teach it to you. Some basic SEO tips that every beginner should learn right away.
1) Catchy Post Titles
This is a very easy to learn SEO tip, make sure whenever you write a new post make the title of the post very catchy and attractive. People would never like to see a post which has a very dull and boring title. Let's take this post as an Example - A Good Title "Top 5 Killer SEO Tips For Beginners" and the boring one "Some SEO Tips." Include some catchy headlining words in the post title. In this case "Top 5 Killer." Whenever you search for anything on Google you get thousands of results, but do you really visit all of them. No, you only visit the one which you think would give the perfect information and would seem to you very catchy.
2) Use Social Media
The main secret for SEO for beginners lies in Social Media. It's not a very complex task and anyone can do this. Use social media, each and every one on which you can get your hands on. Use Facebook, twitter and especially Google+. With the increase in the population on Social Sites than on the streets, target the audience with your brand name where you find more people. It can bring huge traffic to your site and consequently increase your rankings on Search Engines.
3) Linking Pages
The biggest example you can see yourself is if you read Wikipedia. Have you seen how they interlink each and every post on their site within the related posts? That's why their site has such a less bounce rate, i.e. no. of visitors that include just one page view. So, connect your posts within one another and see the results yourself. This tip will keep your audience for more time on your site and will keep the flow on. Include a popular post widget below each and every post of your site or in the sidebar so that people can see it clearly. This will help a lot.
4) Use SiteMaps
Using sitemap can help a lot as it just gives the search engines a map so that they can easily navigate and index each and every page of your site. There are many popular plugins available for WordPress Platform which can help you do this task easily. One of my favorite and the one which I am using right now is SiteMap XML. So go ahead and create a sitemap for site and submit it to Google though the Webmasters Tools Page.
5) Write Guest Posts
This can help you both in getting traffic to your site as well as building some backlinks. The main reason of doing so is since you have just started out; therefor the chances are you might not get a lot of views. So if you write Guest Posts for some big sites you will surely get a backlink through that post and the second is that people might visit your own site from the guest post if they like it. I write occasionally for many blogs and believe me just a single post over there brings considerable amount of traffic to my site.
So these were some basic SEO tips that can help you shoot out your online business if you have just started out.

SEO Tips and Tricks That Will Drive Your Site to the Top

By Tom Greaves

Do you spend your time looking for SEO tips online? How do you know which SEO tips to trust? The truth is SEO changes so fast that yesterday's SEO tips are old news by today. To be a competent search engine optimizer you must be one step ahead of the game. Always looking for optimization tips that enhance your sites effectiveness.
There are however some SEO tips that will never change and will always be relevant to your SEO efforts. These free tips will take time but will act as an awesome investment in your business. The SEO tips I am going to share with you today are based on linking strategy.
You see a lot of search engine optimizers or site owners that are new to the industry concentrate all their efforts on building inbound links to their home pages. This is not correct and will dilute your link building effectiveness.
Before I go into how you should build links and where those links should be pointing, I want to make myself clear about what an effective link is. An effective link should come from a relevant page, a page that is based on a subject of a page you are linking to. The more relevant the better. The link must also come from a page with a high Page Rank, this may be difficult at first but will improve as your site builds credibility. Finally a link should also be anchored with your targeted keyword, this will increase your keyword authority.
So where should these links be pointing. Well you should create a page based on one or two targeted keywords. Then you should attempt to create quality links to each page you create. So if you had 50 keywords you wanted to target you would have to create 25 - 30 pages with links going back to all of them. This is what is known as deep linking and will vastly improve your search marketing campaign.
These SEO tips are tips that will never change and tips that if done right will leave you ahead of most competition. The main one to remember is relevance. The more relevant your link the more productive it will be.
As I said at the start of the article, most SEO tips will change and modify as time goes on but relevant, high quality, anchored links deep linking back to your site is something that will not be changing anytime soon.
